ACS president Anthony Wong says strong business and communication skills are needed, along with the ability to inspire and mobilise a diverse group of members, staff and other stakeholders.
“The successful candidate should be a proven performer in running a medium-sized business, ideally with a national/state-based structure like ours, where staff at the national level supports and empowers our various state branches, boards and committees in their many initiatives and projects,” he says.
A background in technology is desirable, but not essential.
“We would consider an individual from another industry who has the right business and leadership experience, particularly if they have previously been involved in association management,” says Wong.
